Joseph “Percy” J. Germinio, 91, of Camillus, passed away Friday. Born in Syracuse, he grew up in Warners and moved to Camillus in 1995. Joseph was a graduate of Warners High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College. He was a Marine Corps veteran and worked at Crucible Steel for over 30 years. Joseph was a former communicant of St. Joseph’s Church but recently attended Holy Family Church. He was a member of the Camillus Elks Lodge and enjoyed bowling, horse racing and going to the casino. Joseph also enjoyed monthly lunches with his Crucible Steel friends, but above all, loved spending time with family and friends.
Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Mary Jane; sisters, Fannie Flask, Rose Fall and Theresa Lukowski; brother, Patsy Germinio; and nephew, Joseph Germinio.
Surviving are his daughter, Doreen (William) Dwyer of Camillus; sister in law, Shearl Germinio of Warners; nieces and nephews, Patty Smith, Patrick Germinio, Billy Flask, John Flask, Carol Ann Walthra, Joanne Rhoades, Patty Anne Grell, Jerry Fall, Gary Lukowski, Jerry Lukowski, and Frederick Wright; several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews; and “second daughter,” Colleen Lancette and her children, Zachary, Shannon and Lindsey, all of Camillus.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, November 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Face coverings are required.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, November 19 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. Joseph will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
