Joseph J. Germinio Sr.

Joseph John Germinio Sr., 59, formerly of Warners, passed away June 17, 2012 in Brooksville, Florida. Born in Syracuse on Christmas Day 1952, he lived in Warners until moving to Brooksville three years ago. He retired from the West Genesee School District after 32 years. He enjoyed drag racing, building drag cars, gardening and working in his yard. Joe was predeceased by his father, Patsy George Germinio, on February, 19, 2007. Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Erin Germinio and Jason Germinio, all of Warners, and Anthony and Sydney Germinio of Phoenix; mother, Shearl Germinio of Warners; sister, Patricia Smith of Warners; brother, Patrick of Warners; grandchildren, Austin and Landon Germinio; nieces, Kimberly Germinio and Patsy (Roger) Delano, both of Warners and Holly (John) Mayersky of Spring Hill, Florida; and companion, Roberta Dempsey of Florida. Relatives and friends may call Monday, July 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10 at the funeral home with Deacon Nick Alvaro officiating. Joe will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joe’s name to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
