Joseph Edward DeMari, 82, of Fairmount passed away peacefully January 20, 2006 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, surrounded by his family. Born in Sea Cliff, Long Island on Saturday, May 5, 1923, he was the son of Eugene M. DeMari and Nerina Fittipaldi. He lived in Brooklyn before moving to Fairmount for 45 years. Joseph was in the second graduating class at Le Moyne College. He was a claims manager for Allstate Insurance for 30 years. Joseph was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church. Joe was an avid bowler and poker player and enjoyed tending to his roses. Joseph was predeceased by his first wife, the former Rosecarmel Centore. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, the former Dorothea Cerio; daughter and son-in-law, Janine and Darrin DeMari of Baton Rouge, La.; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Susan DeMari of Jamesville and Stephen and Susan DeMari of Naperville, Ill.; sister and brother-in-law, Rose Jeanne and Gaetano DiPascale of Cherry Hill, N.J.; brother, Gene DeMari of Whiting, N.J.; five grandchildren Joseph, Shayna, Lucas, Evan and Gabriela DeMari and many nieces and nephews. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Monday, January 23, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Apostolic School, P.O.
