Joseph "Joe" Mulderig, 82, of Camillus, passed away peacefully April 9, 2017 on a beautiful spring day. He was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. Joe served as a police officer with the Syracuse Police Department for 20 years before retiring in 1977. He was known as "Joe Brown" during his time as a police officer and was an active member of the Police Benevolent Association. Joe was very proud of his Irish heritage but his real pride and joy was the West Genesee Wildcat Marching Band and watching his children and grandchild perform. He was very active in fundraising and was an original "Pit Dad."
Joe was predeceased by his sister, Eleanor Mulderig; and brothers, George and Harold.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, the former Joan Ward; daughters, Katherine (Tom) Mulderig, Mary Clare (Kevin) Mulderig and Kelly Mulderig; and sons, Patrick (Francine) and Martin (Maureen); grandchildren, Jacob and Julie Mulderig, Erin Downs, Sean and BJ Ryan, Clare Bellucci, Jenna Tersigni, Robert Schick and Nicholas Mulderig; great-grandchildren, Blake, Liam, Declan and Shae; and special loved ones, Carol Goldman and Sue Smith.
