Joseph C. Doerfler, 18, of Camillus, died Thursday, May 4, 2006 as the result of an automobile accident. Born in Syracuse, on Thursday, October 22, 1987, he grew up in Camillus. Joseph was a senior at West Genesee High School and was employed by McNamara's Pub in Camillus. A member of the Camillus Youth Hockey Association, he played with the West Genesee Wildcats Varsity Hockey team for the 2004-2005 season and also played lacrosse. Joseph was a 2002-2003 recipient of the Ryan T. Schoonmaker Sportsmanship Award. Surviving are his mother, Helen Doerfler-Bashucky and stepfather, Oleh Bashucky of Camillus; father, Charles Doerfler of Syracuse; grandparents, Helen and Charles Doerfler of Syracuse and Sophia and Peter Bashucky of Port Charlotte, Florida; stepsister, Gabriella Doerfler of Syracuse and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Monday, May 8, 2006 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W.
