Jon M. Johnson

Jon M. Johnson, 65, of Marcellus, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. Born in Syracuse on Sunday, January 27, 1946, he was the son of Mitchell Francis Johnson and Virginia Lorene Thurston Johnson. He lived in Marcellus for more than 35 years and was a graduate of West Genesee High School. Jon was employed by New Venture Gear, retiring in 1994. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and member of the Camillus Elks. His interests included hunting, fishing, golf and playing cards. Jon enjoyed spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, the former Alice LaRonde; children, Christopher and Sheila Johnson of Colorado, Kerry and Jeff Strait of Camillus, Kelby Johnson of Marcellus, and Denice and John Dunn of Syracuse; grandchildren, Cole Johnson, Brady and Rachel Strait, and Jon and Alivia Dunn; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. Services will be private. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, Camillus.
