John "Jack" V. Stubbs, 93, of Syracuse, passed away Monday, July 13, 2015 at The Centers at St. Camillus. Born and raised in Watertown, he was a graduate of Watertown High School. A Coast Guard veteran of World War II, he moved to the Syracuse area after his discharge from service. Jack retired in 1990 as an independent salesman and formerly worked for Gould-Farmer and GE. He enjoyed spending his retirement years at Chaumont Bay. His greatest joy was spending time with his beloved Ruth, family, extended family and friends. Jack was predeceased by his wife, Ruthann this past January; son-in-law, Charles McMullen; brother, William Stubbs; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret 'Peg" and James Miller; and brother-in-law, James F. Salanger Jr. Surviving are his daughters, Nancy Stubbs McMullen and Joanne (Chris) Williams; son, John (Vickie) Jr.; grandchildren, Rachael (Nate) Heath, Cullen Stubbs, Rebecca Meyers and Jack Williams; sister, Helen MacLean; sister-in-law, Dolores Salanger; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 17 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Jack will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Jack's family would like to acknowledge and thank the 3rd Floor staff of The Centers at St. Camillus for all their compassionate care.
