John "Jack" W. Moore, 86, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Francis House. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy. Jack was a Navy veteran and worked for the Syracuse Fire Department for 38 1/2 years before retiring as captain in 1991. A member of the Syracuse Firefighters IAFF Local 280 Fire Fighters Association, he enjoyed golfing and attending the monthly breakfast with the retired firemen. He loved walking, but above all, enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Mary Jane; daughter, Patti Moore-Wleklinski of Camillus; son-in-law, John "Buddy" Wleklinski of Camillus; and granddaughter, Alyssa Wleklinski of Camillus.
There will be no calling hours.
Services will be Wednesday, February 8, at 1 p.m., at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. John will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
