John Jack J. Kelleher, 88, of Camillus, died Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Born in Manhattan on Thursday, December 18, 1919, he was the son of John Andrew Kelleher and Grace Meade Kelleher. He lived in Camillus since 1959. Jack was employed by F. Schumacher & Co. for 38 years, retiring in 1985. An Army veteran of World War II, he served in campaigns in Italy and North Africa. Jack was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church where he was a funeral altar server and faithful to Eucharistic Adoration. He was also a member of the Orchard Village Golf League. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, the former Alice Lynch; daughters and son-in-law, Mary Alice and John Wylie of Onondaga Hill and Susan Kelleher-Lynch of Camillus; sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Kathleen Kelleher and Bill and Susan Kelleher, all of Camillus, and Jerry Kelleher of Atlanta, Georgia; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Tuesday, October 7, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
