John Joseph “J.J.” Camaione John Joseph “J.J.” Camaione, 52, of Hollywood, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 25, 2010 after a short illness. J.J. grew up in the Valley section of Syracuse and was a 1975 graduate of Corcoran High School. He was a double kidney transplant recipient (1980 and 2000). John worked as a consumer credit counselor in South Florida. J.J. was predeceased by his father, Richard Sr., in 1999; niece, Brittany Bowers, and nephew, Benjamin Puma Jr. Surviving are his mother, the former Geraldine Bearden; sisters and brothers-in-law, Roni and Richard Balestra and Sandra and Mark Cregg, all of Syracuse, Mary and Benjamin Puma of Spencer, Lori and Peter Lessard of Charleston, South Carolina, Beth and Keith Stevenson of Camillus, and Jacqueline and Robert Wituszynski of Camillus; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Leslie Camaione Jr. of Camillus and Michael and Melissa Camaione and David Camaione, all of Syracuse; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 27 in St. Joseph's Church, Camillus with Rev. Gregory LeStrange officiating. J.J. will be laid to rest on Wednesday, December 8 at 10 a.m. in Onondaga Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of J.J. may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of CNY, 731 James St., Suite 200, Syracuse, NY 13203.
