John "Tim" Howard, Jr., 68, of Brewerton, passed away Friday, January 1, 2016 at Loretto. Born in Syracuse, he lived in Camillus for 35 years and was a 1966 graduate of Most Holy Rosary School. Tim was a lifetime member of the Camillus and Brewerton Fire Departments and former president of Onondaga County Fireman's Association and Western Section Line Officers' Association. He was also a member of the Firemen's Association State of New York. Tim retired after 41 years of service with the U.S. Postal Service. He loved playing cards, fishing and spending time at his camp on the St. Lawrence River. Tim was predeceased by his parents, John and Lucille; and brother, William. Surviving are his sons, John (Pamela) Howard of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Edward Howard of Brewerton; sisters, Maureen (Alan) Wrightsman of Taunton and Mary Ann Howard of Syracuse; grandchildren, Kayla, Sean and Brianna Howard, all of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; nephew, Peter (Kathleen) Wrightsman of Baldwinsville; nieces, Beth Wrightsman Delpha of Camillus, Amy Wrightsman (Lew) Gilbert of Lyncourt and Sara Wrightsman (Jason) Cassell of Charleston, SC; several cousins, great nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Monday, January 4 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 5 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Camillus. Tim will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
