John F. Van Hoesen, 77, of Camillus, formerly of East Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Francis House. Born and raised in Syracuse, he was a 1956 graduate of Smith Tech High School and earned his associate degree from White Tower Management Corp. in Stanford, CT. John owned Mini Jack's Deli and Mr. Jack's Charcoal Burger for over 50 years and was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. He enjoyed horse racing and owned horses for 20 years at Vernon Downs.
John was predeceased by his wife, Sharon, in 2008; and parents, George and Anna Van Hoesen.
Surviving are his sons, Eric (Stephanie) of San Diego, CA, Jeffrey (Christine) of Pennsylvania and Steven (Angela) of Michigan; sister, Pat (Tim) Sullivan of The Villages, FL; several nieces, nephews and special cousins; and special friends, Tony DiNatale of East Syracuse and Victor Galucci of Camillus.
There will be no calling hours or services. Burial will be private.
