John Emil Daniluk, 96, of Camillus, fell asleep in the Lord at home on May 22, 2017. Born in Syracuse, he moved to Camillus in 1944. John was a graduate of Warners High School and worked his entire life on his family's farm, Daniluk Dairy Farm. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Catholic Church, where he served on the church council and former member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Catholic Church in Auburn. John was also a member of the Agway Cooperative Committee. He enjoyed traveling, feeding the birds and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
John was predeceased by his wife, Sophia, in 2015; brother, Paul; sisters, Anna Schmitz and Mary Kimble; and great-granddaughter, Nataliya Daniluk.
Surviving are his daughter, Nena (Donald) Kinsley of Baldwinsville; sons, Leonard of Camillus and John (Deborah) of Butler, PA; sisters, Olga Schroeder of Palm Springs, FL and Julia Daniluk of Hastings; brothers, Samyon (Ann) of Wilmington, NC and Peter of Dryden; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, May 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Catholic Church, 401 Hamilton St., Syracuse. Panakhyda service will be at 6:30 p.m.
A burial service will be Saturday, May 27 at 9:30 a.m. in the church. John will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Catholic Church or to one’s favorite charity.
