John Dauenhauer, 91, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Monroe Community Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was employed with P&C Food Markets for over 40 years and previously worked as a farmer. An avid outdoorsman, John enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, especially in the Adirondacks.
John was predeceased by his former spouses, Fredericka Elger and Carolyn Wright; son, George; great-grandson, Justin; sister, Dolores Halliday; and brother, John French.
Surviving are his daughters, Laura (Dave) Donigan, Katie (Jim) Scheirer, Lisa Dauenhauer, Susan (Steve) Bezas and Christina (Galen) Swenson; sons, Richard (Judy) and John; daughter-in-law, Kathy; sister, Georgina Burgmeier; brothers, Brother Timothy and Michael (Renee); 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday, January 19 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will be Monday, January 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. John will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
