John Chatty Chatfield, 77, of Camillus, died Monday, March 26, 2007 at Community-General Hospital. Born in Syracuse on Wednesday, August 14, 1929, he was the son of George Chatfield and Mabel Rice Chatfield. He was a lifetime resident of Camillus. Chatty was employed by Clemett Co., Inc., retiring in 1991 and was formerly employed by Don Elliott's Fuel Service, the State of New York, Camillus Mills and O'Hara-Murphy's Garage. He was a member of the Camillus Historical Society, former volunteer for the Rescue Mission and a fireman for the Camillus Fire Dept. His interests included boating, swimming and enjoying the warm Florida weather in later years. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, the former Geraldine North; daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and James Mueller of Warners, Lori and Brian Daniels of Jordan and Stacey Sherwood of Fayetteville; son and daughter-in-law, John "Jack" and Ann Chatfield of Camillus; sister, Rose Schneider of Marcellus; brother, Raymond Demperio of Marcellus; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus with Rev. Michael Grinnals officiating. Friends may call Thursday, March 29, 2007 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Spring burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Camillus.
