John “King Kong” Kusnierczyk June 13, 2010 John “King Kong” Kusnierczyk, 87, of Fairmount, passed away Sunday at Crouse Hospital. Born on the east side of Syracuse, he lived in Fairmount for the past 55 years. John retired in 1988 after 37 years with Diefendorf Gear Corp. He was a 55-year communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of its Holy Name Society. An avid golfer, John was a member of the Camillus County Club. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Gloria Krupka, in 2003. Surviving are his daughter, Diane Kusnierczyk of Detroit, MI; sons, Neil of Syracuse and Jan of Hawaii; sisters, Anna Schacter and Helen Hendrix, both of CA; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and 1 p.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. John will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
