Joan (McCormick) Collins

Joan (McCormick) Collins, 82, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was the daughter of the late John and Gertrude McCormick and a graduate of St. Anthony's High School.

Family was everything to Joan. She was a communicant of St. Charles ~ St. Ann's Parish.

Joan was predeceased by her husband, Charles Collins, in 1997; and brother, John McCormick, in 2015.

Surviving are her daughters, Maureen (Steve) Hubbard of Camillus, and Kathryn (Joseph) Krawczyk, Susan (Vincent) Henson and Kristen (James) Czaplicki, all of Syracuse; sons, Martin (Sue) and Mickey (Carol), both of Syracuse; sisters, Susan (James) Hartnett and Marilyn (Peter) Cappuccilli, both of Syracuse; brothers, Charles McCormick of Syracuse, Daniel (Charlotte) McCormick of Florida, D. Michael McCormick and Patrick (Cathleen) McCormick, both of Syracuse; sister-in-law, Margaret Collins; brother-in-law, Paul Collins; grandchildren, Michael, Christopher and Steven Hubbard, T.J., Dan, Matt and David Krawczyk, Collin, Mara, and Lucy Henson, Ben and Kate Czaplicki, and Taylor, Abby and Haley Collins; great-grandchildren, Liam, Cal and Quinn Krawczyk; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Our family would like to thank Joan's sister-in-law, Cathy, for helping us to keep our mother home.

Relatives and friends may call Friday, May 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 27 at noon in St. Charles~St. Ann's Parish, 501 South Orchard Rd. Joan will be laid to rest in St. Agnes Cemetery.
