Joan Hill, 82, of Clay, passed away Saturday at Buckley Landing. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she lived in Minnesota until moving to the Syracuse area in 1977. Joan was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Pittsburgh. Formerly employed by Alcoa, TJ Maxx and Zayres, she was a volunteer at the Civic Center and communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Cicero since 1977. Joan was predeceased by her husband, David F. Hill in 1997; and granddaughter, Jennifer Mulhollam; Surviving are her daughters, Susan Mulhollam of Wisconsin and Diane (Joe) Viviano of North Syracuse; sons, David (Pat) Hill of East Syracuse, Donald (Debbie) Hill of Pittsburgh, PA and Daniel (Kelli Smith) Hill of Chittenango; sisters, Peggy (Anthony) Sciorilli and Mada (Bill) Stemler of Indiana and Mary Winter of Colorado; brothers, James (Annette) Toomey of Pittsburgh, PA and Paul Toomey of Florida; grandchildren, James, Joan, Jesse, Joseph and Mariya Mulhollam, Matthew, Donald, Douglas and Tabitha Hill, Joseph and Julianne Viviano; four great grand children; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 8229 S. Main St., Cicero, Thursday, September 10, at 10 a.m. Joan will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
