Joan Frances Vodek, 84, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday at home. Born in Oswego, she was a graduate of Warners High School and received a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Potsdam and master’s degree from SUNY Oswego. Joan was a math teacher at Liverpool Middle School and Jordan-Elbridge Central School District, retiring in 1991. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and enjoyed spending summers in Fair Haven for more than 50 years.
Joan was predeceased by her parents, John and Victoria Vodek; sister, Helen M. Crossett; and brother-in-law, William Crossett.
Surviving are her partner of 12 years, David Bragan; nephews, William (Susan) Crossett of Fayetteville, Kevin (Carol) Crossett of Camillus, Shawn (Nancy) Crossett of Baldwinsville, Darren (Diane) Crossett of Charlottesville, VA and Peter (Gwen) Crossett of Fayetteville.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, May 11 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.
Joan will be laid to rest at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Oswego.
