Joan Banach Dillon, 75, of Fairmount, died Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at Community General Hospital. Born in Syracuse on Saturday, January 12, 1929, she was the daughter of Edward J. Banach and Cecelia Neumayer. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a senior clerk for the State of New York Surrogate Court. Joan was a communicant of Holy Family Church for 12 years and member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She was also a long-time supporter of the food pantry and local youth groups. She was a former communicant of Most Holy Rosary Church. Interests of Joan's included shopping with family and friends, reading and collecting angels. Her grandchildren were especially dear to her heart. Surviving are her three daughters: Joan (Patrick) Marshall of Warners, Peg (Terry) Curtin of Onondaga Hill and Carol (Ronald) Zoll of Fairmount; two sisters: Cecelia Racht and Katherine Paige, both of Syracuse; seven grandchildren, Patrick J., Rebecca A. and Peter J. Marshall, Joe and Ted Curtin and Andrew and Meghan Zoll and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday, October 15, 2004 at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 1 p.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Thursday, October 14, 2004 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
