Jo Lilena Danes McNamara

Jo Lilena Danes McNamara, 63, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday at Crouse Hospital. Born on August 5, 1950, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Jo was a waitress for 39 years at Hotel Syracuse, Sheraton Inn and Holiday Inn. She was also a former communicant of St. Patrick's Church. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed gambling and going to plays. She will truly be loved and missed by everyone. Jo was predeceased by her parents John and Josephine (LaValley) Danes; brothers, James, Jerel and Jeffery Danes; and sister, Judith Tomeny. Surviving are her beloved husband of 44 years, Stephen McNamara; brother, John (MaryAnn) Danes of Florida; sisters, Joan Hummer of Cicero and Janice (Thomas) Danes-Klasen of Lakeland; children, Michele (Thomas) Heisey of Syracuse, Stephen (Kim) McNamara of Lakeland, Renee (Scott) Stoutenger of Baldwinsville and Jodi McNamara-Allen of Oswego; 12 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, February 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Graveside services will be held on Saturday May 31, 2014 at 11:30 a.m in the Huron Evergreen Cemetery, Wolcott.
