Jennifer (O’Brien) LaGrange, 52, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Thursday at home, surrounded by her loving family. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a graduate of Onondaga Central High School, and continued her education at OCC, earning an associate’s degree. Jennifer dedicated her professional life to healthcare, working as an anesthesia technician specialist, most recently at Upstate University Hospital.
Jennifer was a devoted parishioner of Holy Family Church and lived her life with faith, kindness, and generosity. She was an avid fan of Disney World, finding immense joy in its magic. Jennifer’s love for travel took her on adventures that created cherished memories with loved ones.
Jennifer’s passion for music and concerts was infectious, and she never missed an opportunity to share those moments with friends and family.
Above all, Jennifer cherished the time spent with her family and friends, who were the heart of her life. Her warmth, laughter, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Jennifer was predeceased by her son, David Murphy, in 1994; and father, James O’Brien, in 2005.
Surviving are her husband of 15 years, James; daughter, Isabelle (Zachary Kelly) Murphy of Camillus; mother, Linda O’Brien (Fred) Fuller of Camillus; sisters, Kathleen (Dan) Mathewson and Megan (AJ) Quinn, both of Camillus; brother, James O’Brien of Onondaga Hill; nieces and nephews, Connor Kniffin, Emma, and Mason O’Brien, Sean O’Brien, Carter, and Kellen Mathewson, and Mia, Riley, and Molly Quinn; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and several other extended LaGrange family members.
To celebrate Jennifer’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse.
The family kindly asks those attending her calling hours and service to join them by wearing colorful attire. Jennifer brought so much vibrancy and joy to everyone around her, and they feel it’s only fitting to honor her spirit with bright, cheerful colors.
Jennifer will be laid to rest in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse.
