Jennie Marko, of Syracuse, passed away Monday at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born and raised in Syracuse, Jennie was the daughter of the late Alexander and Pauline Procanick. Jennie retired from Carrier as a senior executive secretary after 40+ years of service with the company.
Jennie's loving husband of 45 years, Walter Marko of Auburn, passed away in 2017. She is also predeceased by her sister, Mary Borys; brother, Metro Procanick; and nephew, Richard Borys.
Jennie is survived by three nieces, two nephews, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Jennie has also been blessed with many close, life-long friends, including her dear cousin Mary, who have been very supportive, especially during her recent illness.
Jennie was a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, active in church affairs, and a member of Apostleship of Prayer.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, April 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Panakhyda service will follow at 6 p.m.
A Divine Liturgy for the Deceased will be celebrated Friday, April 29 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Syracuse. Jennie will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 207 Tompkins St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
