Jeannette's life was one marked by both professional accomplishments and a deep commitment to her community. A graduate of North High School, Jeannette embarked on a successful career that spanned over two decades with Chappell's Department Store. Prior to that, she had served as vice president of the Empire Maintenance Company in Syracuse. She also found joy in friendly card games and was known to be a fierce competitor. Her spiritual life was equally important to her, as she engaged in Bible study, deepening her connection with her faith. However, above all else, Jeannette's greatest source of happiness was her family. She cherished moments spent with her grandchildren, and her love and warmth created lasting memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
Jeannette was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth in 2004; son, Anthony in 2019; parents, Anthony and Mary Petta; brother, Nicholas Petta; and stepdaughters, Marcia Smyth and Kathy Schilling.
Surviving are her sons, Gary (Mandy Blake) of Solvay and Kenneth (Judy) of Syracuse; daughters, Toni (Michael) DeGaetano of Atlantic, NC, Joni (Robert) Salvagni of Solvay and Gina (April Wertheim) Burrows of Liverpool; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
