Jeanne M. Huss, 67, passed away Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. Born in Syracuse to the late Charles and Ruth Taylor on February 10, 1954, she graduated from St. Lucy's Academy in 1972 and Maria Regina College in 1974.
Jeanne was a dedicated preschool teacher at Sacred Heart School in Syracuse until its closure in 2002. She was a talented singer and actress who performed with various local community theater groups. In most recent years, she was a member of the Syracuse Pop Chorus, the Hospice Harmony Singers of CNY and the Red Hat Society of Syracuse. Jeanne enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, shopping and giving gifts for every occasion.
Jeanne was predeceased by her loving husband of over 30 years, Robert Huss, in 2010 and grandson, Adam Haahr, in 2010.
Jeanne is survived by her daughters, Tara (Tom) Davis of Liverpool and Erica (David) Haahr of Baldwinsville; sisters, Catherine (Kurt) Schotthoefer and Barbara Bonnette; and grandchildren, Ethan Haahr and Julianna Davis.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, November 24 from 10 a.m. to noon at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral mass will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Family Church, Syracuse. Private burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
