Jeanne L. (Rousche) DiPaola, 88, of Westvale, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at home. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School. Jeanne was in the first graduating class of Le Moyne College where she earned her bachelor's degree in 1951. She earned her master's degree from SU and taught at Grant Junior High, where she met her husband before leaving teaching to raise her family. Jeanne was a communicant of St. Charles of Borromeo Church and enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Jeanne regretted not dying on Super Bowl Sunday because she “knew her boys would have to attend and miss the game.”
Jeanne was predeceased by her husband, Sam; parents, John and Bertha (Caposto) Rousche; and sister, Marlene Rousche.
Surviving are her daughters, Marlene (Mark) Sierotnik, Mary (Ken) Bleskoski and Patricia (Michael) Vercillo, all of Syracuse; sons, Stephan (Patti) of Webster, Peter (Lee) of Onondaga Hill, John (Lisa) of Camillus, James (Kathleen) of Redondo Beach, CA and David (Kim) of Camillus; 30 grandchildren, Steve, Shelly, Brian, Kerry, Mike, Lissa, Emily, Rachel, Courtney, Emily, Gracie, Nick, Elise, Mike, Tim, Erin, Colleen, Mark, Kelley, Katie, Jim, Kevin, Megan, Joe, Lauren, David, Julianne, Sam, Jake and Emma; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Terry (Eileen) Rousche of Montoursville, PA; sisters-in-law, Rosalie Sansone of Liverpool and Betsy DiPaola of Penfield; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, October 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 27 at 10 a.m. in St. Charles~St. Ann's Parish, 501 South Orchard Rd., Syracuse. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, DeWitt.
