It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Jeanette B. Rice, of Syracuse, NY. She was a loved mother, Mimi and friend. She passed away peacefully at the age of 74, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday. Jeanette was born October 16, 1946 in Norwich, NY to her parents, William P. and Lucy H. Briggs. She was the granddaughter of Dr. Blin and Isabelle Harris. Jeanette was a graduate of St. Paul's School in 1960, Norwich High School in 1964, and Fisher Junior College in 1966. She lived in Syracuse for 42 years where she made her career at S.O.S. for 33 years.
Devoted to her family and friends, Jeanette was a caring soul who loved to laugh and make meaningful memories. She enjoyed playing tennis, pickle ball, traveling and gardening. She spent many years volunteering at Planned Parenthood and the American Cancer Society in Norwich.
Predeceased by her parents, Jeanette is survived by her three adoring children, Renee (Jeffrey) Fragale, Jennifer (Erik) Boergesson and Christopher (Maggie) Rice; grandchildren, Jordan and Jacob Fragale, Brigham and Chloe Boergesson and Lia Rice; and her cousins, Brenda B. Griffing and Sue B. Lewis.
Services will be private. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
