Jean Tupper

January 7, 1929 — May 2, 2020

Jean Tupper, 91, of Solvay, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, with her family by her side. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a graduate of Vocational High School. Jean was employed by Dr. Nicholas Pirro for 25 years and co-owned the Village Religious & Gift Shop in Solvay. A communicant of St. Brigid & St. Joseph Church, she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Solvay Seniors. Jean’s granddaughters were her pride and joy in life. She loved spending the month of August in Lake Placid watching them skate. Jean loved her vacations at Fourth Lake with family and friends and she always enjoyed trips to the casino. She cherished her dear family and her many wonderful friends.

Jean was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, in 2017; parents, Josephine and Thomas Fantauzzi; brothers, Thomas, John and George; and sisters, Bonnie and Anne.

Surviving are her son, Keith (Lynn) Tupper of Camillus; grandchildren, Kendall (Andrew) LeClaire of Washington, Kiersten (Jacob) Waruch of Hudson Valley and Karlyn Tupper of Westchester; great-granddaughter, Ella; brothers, Joseph and Francis Fantauzzi, both of Syracuse; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no services at this time. A memorial Mass and celebration of Jean’s life will be held at a later date for family and friends. Jean will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery.
