Jean Antil, 82, of Camillus, passed away surrounded by her family at home on Thursday, August 17, 2017. Born in Dearborn, MI, she lived in Westfield, MA before moving to Camillus in 1965. Jean graduated from Fordson High School and Michigan State University. A dedicated teacher, she retired in 1999 after 25 years of teaching with the West Genesee School District. A communicant of St. Joseph's Church, she was involved in various church activities. Jean enjoyed volunteering her time and helping others, playing bridge, traveling and spending winters in Scottsdale, AZ. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, Arthur; brother, Owen Lawlor; and son-in-law, John McCarthy.
Surviving are her daughters, Annette (Matthew) Krol of Marcellus, Lynn (Brad) Curry of Millersville, MD, Lisa (William) Buccella of Franklin, MA and Anne Marie McCarthy of Camillus; sisters-in-law, Nancy Lawlor of Dearborn, MI and Jackie Minott of Brunswick, ME; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, August 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Jean's wishes were fulfilled with the donation of her body to medical science.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 22 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 West Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be private in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
