Janet Knapp Palange, 79, of Camillus, died unexpectedly Sunday, August 24, 2008. Born in Cortland on Sunday, January 13, 1929, she was the daughter of Perley Mason Knapp and Mildred Ann Beattie Knapp. She lived in the Fairmount/ Camillus area most of her life. Janet was a graduate of Camillus High School. She was employed by Skaneateles Bank in Camillus for more than 30 years. A communicant of St. Joseph's Church, she was also a member of the Funeral Luncheon Guild. Janet enjoyed performing vocally with her lifelong friend, Bev Whelan, playing cards, and spending time on Skaneateles Lake. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband, Frank, died December 12, 1981 and son, Michael, died March 2, 2000. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Dana Hall of Skaneateles, Karen and Michael Dodge of Uncasville, Connecticut and Carolyn Briggs of Camillus; sisters and brother-in-law, Janice Barnes of Fairmount and Nancy and Bruce Whiting of Weedsport; daughter-in-law, Lynn Palange Hallett of Elbridge; grandchildren, Michael (Lisa) and Ryan Hall, Michael, Daniel and Christopher Dodge, Jon and Megan Palange, Kristen and Lauren Briggs; great-grandchildren, Braxton and Rylan Hall; several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Wednesday, August 27, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
