Janet D. Kleberg
August 3, 1933 — August 20, 2017
Janet D. Kleberg, 84, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at University Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a graduate of Vocational High School and Syracuse University.
Janet was employed with Niagara Mohawk and retired as an administrator from Syracuse University. She then worked 10 years as an underwriter for Liberty Mutual. She was past president of the parent organization for Camillus Youth Hockey and a volunteer for ECHO Meals on Wheels for many years. An avid cat lover, Janet also enjoyed reading, playing Bingo and taking trips to the casino but above all, loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are John Kleberg Sr.; daughter, Karen (Gary Wrobel) Kleberg of Syracuse; sons, John of Syracuse and Eric (Corina) of Auburn; sisters, Frances DeFoe and Mary Lou DeFoe, both of Syracuse; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Janet will be laid to rest in McConnellsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Golisano Children's Hospital, c/o University Hospital, 750 E. Adams St., Syracuse, NY 13210.
