Jane M. Burns Casler, 81, recently of Baldwinsville, formerly of Camillus, passed away Monday, July 12, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. Born in Utica on Wednesday, February 13, 1929, she was the daughter of Peter James Burns and Alice Agnes Leach Burns. She was raised in Yorkville and lived in Eggertsville and Watertown before moving to Camillus in 1963. Jane was a 1946 graduate of Whitesboro High School and a 1949 graduate of St. Elizabeth College of Nursing. She retired after more than 30 years with St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. A communicant of St. Joseph's Church, she was a former member of its Altar & Rosary Society. Jane enjoyed her family and spending time for many years at their camp in the Adirondacks. Jane was predeceased by her husband, Howard on September 24, 1989. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Syracuse Home Assoc. for all their loving care to Jane. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Michael O'Brien of Penn Yan, Paula and Michael Patell of Auburn and Amy and Eric Rasmussen of Windham; sons and daughter-in-law, Peter and Patricia of Valley Stream and Daniel of Syracuse; grandchildren, Neil (Tara), Steven, Jennifer (Christopher), Catherine, Sarah, Melissa, Peter and Luke. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, July 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, July 15 in St. Joseph’s Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
