James Smith, 76, of Geddes, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from health complications. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he owned Bill's Inn Fish Fry for 15 years and previously owned LBJ's, House of Omelets and Jim Smith's Sandwich Shop. James was a communicant and former usher at St. Patrick's Church. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
James was predeceased by his sisters, Shirley and Maureen; and brothers, Dick, Collin, Lloyd Jr., Fred, Francis and Don.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, the former Cynthia DeRose; sons, Patrick, James (Cathy) Jr. and Jay (Cindy); daughters, Tammy (Jim) Smith, Sandra Smith and Kelly (Dave) Faulkner; sisters, Charlene, Kathy and Sue; brothers, Ted, Tom and George; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
