James Reid Walsh, 80, formerly of Camillus, died Monday, October 31, 2005 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Born in Syracuse on Tuesday, September 22, 1925, he was the son of John and Hester Walsh and lived in Camillus most of his life. Jim was a graduate of Hillsboro High School in Tampa, Florida and served in the Army from 1946 to 1947. He was employed by Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. for 34 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Camillus Elks Lodge #2367. Jim was a former communicant of Holy Family Church and a communicant of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Surviving are his wife, the former Joan Farrell; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael J. Walsh of Hudson, Florida, Kevin J. and Janet Walsh of Syracuse, Daniel R. Walsh of Camillus and Paul J. Walsh of Camillus; sisters and brother-in-law, Ellen and Edward Kendrick of Camillus and Virginia Barrett of Camillus; brother and sister-in-law, John and Catherine Walsh of Camillus; grandchildren, Michael, Heather, Kelley, Meghan, Emily, Alec and Ava; great-grandson, Conor and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2005 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Thursday, November 4, 2005 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Syracuse.
