James R. Carolin, 73, of Camillus, died Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at his home. Born in Syracuse, on Sunday October 9, 1932, he was the son of John Peter Carolin and Agnes Beatrice Meere. He grew up in Eastwood until moving to Camillus in 1963. Jim was a Korean War Navy veteran and employed by GE of Syracuse for 36 years, retiring in 1992. He was a communicant of St. Josephs Church and was a member of the Moose Club Lodge 644, the Camillus Democratic Club and a life member of the VFW Post 8664. He was a former trustee with the village of Camillus. Jim's loving wife, the former Patricia Rushford, died in 2005. He was also predeceased by his grandsons, Brant L. McDeid and Connor P. and Colin J. Botz. Surviving are his daughters, Denise (Tim) Botz of Solvay and Michelle (Michael) Lougee of Marcellus; son, Patrick (Toni) of Camillus; honorary daughter, Susan (Patrick) Donegan of Camillus; brothers, Jack (Shirley) and Robert (Carol); sisters, Mary (Floyd) Dunham, Eleanor (Don) Hockenbrock, Patricia (Jim) Krick, Shirley (Quierno) Liberatore and Joan (Fran) King; grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, J.J. and Jarrett McDeid, Joshua, Jordan and Jeremy Carolin, Brendan and Austin Botz; honorary grandchildren, Ryan Price, Sarah, Noah and Taylor Donegan and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 9 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Friday, May 12, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus.
