James "Jim" Cameron, 60, of Syracuse, passed away Monday at VA Medical Center. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he lived most of his life in Syracuse and was a graduate of Bishop Ludden High School, OCC, Le Moyne College and St. Leo's in Florida. Jim was an Air Force veteran. He was currently a self-employed health care practitioner and previously worked with Holiday Retirement Corp. and as an E.E.I. coordinator for the Peace Corp. An avid golfer, he also loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Jim was predeceased by his mother, Ada Hardy Cameron, in 1987; father, Donald C. Cameron, in 1997; and sister, Lillian Allen in 1996. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, the former Teri Guy; daughter, D. Jolie (Jerome Calloway) Cameron of Euless, TX; sons, James Jr. "J.C." (Ivy Coloń) of Solvay, Justin of Syracuse, and Josh (Mandi) of Mobile, AL; sister, Rosemary (Ngozi) Collins of Fort Worth, TX; uncle, Henry "Q.D." (Mary) Vaughn of Syracuse; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 20 at noon in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. James will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Jim's memory to one's favorite charity.
