James "Bill" W. Harris Jr., 92, of Camillus, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Valley High School and an Army Air Corps veteran of WW II. Bill retired from Lamson Corp. and previously worked for Bell Air Craft in Buffalo and also for Corning, Inc. A former communicant of St. Joseph's Church, he was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Camillus Elks Club, and the Moose Club. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Viola, in 1977. Surviving are his daughter, Linda (Peter) Toldi of Camillus; son, James (Cindi Wernet) Johnson of Elbridge; grandchildren, Stephanie Pirro, Cynthia (Scott) Orr, Jason (Shelly) Johnson, Jeffrey Toldi and James Toldi; great-grandchildren, Anthony Pirro, Aidan, Paityn and Kendall Orr; several nieces and nephews; and longtime companion, Shirley Fisher of Syracuse. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, June 30 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
