James P. Wavercak, 64, of the village of Camillus, died Thursday, March 22, 2007 in the loving arms of his family. Born in Syracuse on Friday, October 16, 1942, Jim lived in Memphis until moving to the village of Camillus four years ago. A graduate of West Genesee High School, he attended Auburn Community College and Onondaga Community College. Jim was employed by Camillus Cutlery for 33 years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Warners. He enjoyed antiques, hunting, fishing, archery, muzzle loading and playing the guitar. His biggest enjoyment was his family. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Michael Andrew Wavercak (April. 27, 1977) and Bernice Mary Swietoniowski Wavercak (October 16, 1991) and brother, Michael J. Wavercak (March 7, 1984). Surviving are his wife of 38 years, the former Anita Parker; son and daughter-in-law, James A. and Misty Wavercak of Fairmount; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Larry Backus of Kirkville and Amy and Chris Sponable of Camillus; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Robert Dolengo of Memphis; six grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be at 9:15 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2007 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church where Rev. Richard Root will celebrate a funeral Mass. Friends may call Sunday, March 25, 2007 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
