James Lloyd McClendon, 74, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday, March 15 at The Grand Rehabilitation & Nursing at Rome. Known by everyone as "Lloyd", he was born in Queens, and grew up in Carle Place, Long Island. Lloyd graduated from Carle Place High School where he excelled in football, wrestling, and pole vaulting. Settling in Syracuse in the 1970s, he spent his career working in the construction and masonry field. A history enthusiast who never got enough of the History Channel, Lloyd was also an avid sports fan, especially of the University of Alabama (Roll Tide). He loved his dogs, Maggie and Sierra.
Lloyd was predeceased by his parents, James and Jane McClendon; and sister, Diane Dane.
Surviving are his daughter, Molly (Steven Kukulski) McClendon; former wife, Debra McClendon; sister, Jane (Robert) Lopez; granddaughter, Charlotte Kukulski; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at The Grand for their care and compassion for Lloyd.
