James M. Peterson

James M. Peterson, 47, of Syracuse, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 at home. Born in Syracuse, he lived mostly in the Syracuse and Binghamton areas.  He was an Army veteran. James was an electrician for several years and last year reached journeyman status. A lover of mechanics, he enjoyed riding his Harley.  James played various instruments and enjoyed drawing and claymation but his children were his pride and joy and his biggest accomplishment was raising them. James was predeceased by his mother, Helen, in 2014.  Surviving are his children, Brenda Peterson, Aaron Peterson and Amanda Young Gardner; his father, Art; brother, Art Jr., sisters, Patricia Bishop and Donna Bucci; close friend, Rebecca Todd; and seven nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, March 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 18 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Burial will be private.
