James E. Stanton, 70, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at University Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of North Syracuse High School. James retired in 2000 after over 20 years with Carrier Corp. He was a former communicant of St. Augustine's Church and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. He was a member of the National Rifle Assoc. James loved spending time around the house and yard and especially spending time with his family and friends. James was predeceased by his daughters, Michelle Stanton, in 1969, and Helena Smith, in 2005; and grandson, Ronald Smith in 2005. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Gretchen; daughter, Jacqlene Stanton of Camillus; sons, James (Shannon) of Germantown, MD and Timothy (Nancy) of Camillus; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Saturday, September 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
