James E. Bottrill, 65, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. Born in Syracuse on Friday, June 2, 1944, he was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. He was employed by LeMoyne College for 10 years, retiring in 2009. James was also formerly employed by R.E. Dietz Co. for 25 years as a printer. He was a former member of Knights of Columbus 6282 and loved spending time with his family. James was predeceased by his mother, Genevieve Bottrill in 2004 and father, Edwin Bottrill, in 2007. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Tracy Bottrill of Syracuse; daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Gene Perry of Kirkville and Lisa and Theo Wheeler of Rochester; sister and brother-in-law, Diane and James Shepard of Syracuse; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also Papa to his seven grandchildren: Alex, Zach, Mackenzie, Caban, Ethan, Hayden and Gracie. Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2010 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Relatives and friends may call preceding the service from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Private entombment will be at Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rescue Mission, P.O.
