Jacqueline A. Dorchester, 75, of Elbridge and Jensen Beach, Florida, died peacefully Sunday, September 24, 2006 at home with her husband of 56 years by her side. Born in Hancock, New York on Tuesday, November 25, 1930, she was the daughter of Russell Benjamin Johnson and Berniece Watson. She was a graduate of Hancock Central School. Jackie came to Marcellus in 1950 after her wedding, then moved to Camillus in 1956 and finally to Elbridge in 1996. She retired from Dey Bros. in Fairmount. Jackie was a former member of the Marcellus Town Band in the early 50's and the Marcellus Women's Bowling League. A member of Robinson Memorial Presbyterian Church, she was a Sunday school teacher, choir member, elder and deacon. Jackie enjoyed music, Las Vegas, shuffleboard, camping and spending time with her family. Surviving are her husband, Lason; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Debbie Dorchester of Weedsport, John and Mary Dorchester of Jordan and James and Lisa Dorchester of Syracuse; sister, Joan Musso of Long Eddy; brothers, Ralph Johnson of Oneonta and Allan Johnson of Port Crane; sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Robert, deceased) Johnson of Hancock; Jean (Robert W., deceased) Hill of Elbridge and Coralie (James) Cavanaugh of Dimock, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2006 in Robinson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Westvale with Rev. Tracie E. Martin officiating. A second memorial service will be in Jensen Beach later on. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Highland Cemetery in Marcellus. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.
