It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Ivan Dashkevich, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. Ivan peacefully departed from this world on Friday, at his home, at the age of 87.
Born on March 24, 1936, in Ukraine, Ivan embarked on a remarkable journey that brought him to the United States in 1990. He was a dedicated and hard-working man, earning a living as a machine operator in the cable industry. Ivan was employed by Arcom Labs in Syracuse, where he displayed a strong work ethic and commitment throughout his career. He found solace and faith through his membership in the First Ukrainian Pentecostal Church.
Ivan was predeceased by his parents, Luka and Kateryna.
Ivan lived a life filled with love and devotion to family. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Nina; daughters, Larisa Skripchenko of Hawaii and Ludmila (Mark) Johnson of New Jersey; sons, Pavel (Maria) Dashkevich of Baldwinsville and Alex (Tanya) Dashkevich of Rochester; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister, Lydia Kravchyshyn of Seattle, WA.
First service will be celebrated Friday, February 2 at 7 p.m. at the First Ukrainian Pentecostal Church, 3875 Warners Rd., Syracuse. Second service will be Saturday, February 3 at 10 a.m. at the church.
Ivan will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
In this time of sorrow, we hold dear the memories and legacy that Ivan Dashkevich leaves behind. His kindness, strength, and love will forever echo within our hearts.
