Inge M. Green, 84, of Camillus, passed away unexpectedly Saturday at University Hospital. Born in Manhattan, she lived in Greenwich, CT before moving to CNY in 1975. Married in Puerto Rico, Inge and her husband operated a laundromat for seven years. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, Camillus. In 1989, Inge received a liver transplant at Massachusetts General Hospital making her one of the longest and most successful liver transplant survivors. She was a world traveler and enjoyed knitting but above all, loved spending time with her family.
We lost an incredible, caring woman who will always remain in our hearts.
Inge was predeceased by her parents, Max and Erna Michalke; and brother, Mark Michiels.
Surviving are her husband, William; daughter, Katherine (Green) Tuft of Camillus; son, Robert Green of New York City; twin sisters, Martha Semler and Margaret (John) Almy, both of Fairfield, CT; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, September 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will follow at 1 p.m. in the church. Inge will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Greenwich, CT.
