Henry W. Schramm

Henry W. Schramm, 86, of Camillus, died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Born in Brooklyn on Sunday, January 13, 1924, he was the son of Henry Schramm and Mae Wall Schramm. He was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. A graduate of Richmond Hill High School and Syracuse University, he was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Henry was public relations director for Key Bank for more than 15 years, retiring in 1987. He was also formerly employed by Barlow Johnson Public Relations as vice president and by the Environmental School of Forestry in the Publications Dept. Henry was a former member of the Public Relations Society of America, Syracuse Press Club, Frank H. Hiscock Legal Aid Society and Syracuse Chapter of the American Red Cross. He enjoyed reading and authored many books. An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed spending time with his wife. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Barbara Schramm; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Len Robinson officiating. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, Camillus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 11122, Syracuse, NY 13218 or to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 6229, Syracuse, NY 13217.
