Henry E. Bondoni Henry E. “Hank” Bondoni, 85, of Camillus, passed away Friday, February 19, 2010 at Community General Hospital. Born in Syracuse on Sunday, September 14, 1924, he lived in Lakeland before moving to Camillus in 1960. Hank was a graduate of Solvay High School and Navy veteran of World War II. In 1985, he retired from Crucible Steel Corp. after 43 years. An active volunteer in his church and community, Hank was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and member of the American Legion Post 1540, Tyrol Club and Crucible Retirees Club. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Sarah Bondoni; and sister, Ann Rauch. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, the former Bernadette Mahan; daughters and sons-in-law, Sara and Marvin Derks of Camillus and Mary and Jim Wogan of Greenback, Tennessee; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Denise Bondoni of Northville, Michigan; brother, John Failoni of Solvay; grandchildren, Daniel and Megan Derks and Kailyn and Joseph Bondoni; cousin, Mary Bondoni of Solvay; and three nephews and one niece. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Church. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
