Henry E. Clay

June 13, 1922 — August 16, 2015

Henry E. Clay, 93, of Camillus, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Crouse Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he graduated from North Syracuse High School. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and flew in the C.B.I. Theater. Henry retired from the NYS Thruway Authority. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed spending time at his cottage in Canada on Charleston Lake. He also loved to golf, garden and play cards. Henry was predeceased by three sisters; two brothers; and a granddaughter. Surviving are his wife, Sally; son, William (Bernice) Clay of Plattsburgh; stepdaughters, Susan Daly (Randy Brentlinger) of Lakeland, Nancy (James) Hudlin of Pittsfield, MA and Barbara Hillenbrand of Syracuse; stepson, Dr. Dennis (Deborah) Daly of Tully; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, August 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 or to American Diabetes Assn., 6390 Fly Rd., E.
