Helene Nesterowicz, 85, of Camillus, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021. Born and raised in Paris, France, she moved to the Syracuse area in 1958. Helene was employed with the Syracuse City School District for 25 years before retiring in 1999 and previously worked for 3M in France. She was a communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Helene enjoyed shopping, gardening and taking ceramics classes. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
Helene was predeceased by her parents, Kasimir and Marianne Andrezejewski; and brother-in-law, Hans Deiter Freisem.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Paul; children, Paul (Cynthia) Nesterowicz of Munnsville, Patricia Simko of Baldwinsville and Michelle (Mark) Robinson of Palm Harbor, FL; sister, Jeannine Freisem of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Michael, Brandon and John Simko, Mark and Joe Robinson and Shannon Nesterowicz; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, April 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Face coverings are required.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 7 at 9:30 a.m. in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Ave., Syracuse. Helene will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
