Helena A. Jones

Helena A. Jones, 68, of Syracuse, passed away Friday at Loretto Health and Rehabilitation. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a 1974 graduate of Marcellus High School. Helena was employed by Stafkings and previously worked at Fay’s Drugs and Witherill’s. A former avid bowler and golfer, she enjoyed playing cards, taking walks, and doing puzzles and ceramics. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Helena was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 2011; parents, Frank and Katherine Burch; and sister, Janet in 2023.

Surviving are her son, Alan (Kayli) Jones of Phoenix; daughter, Sarah Jones of Liverpool; grandchildren, Brayden, Austyn, Aliyah, and Alaina; brother, Alvin Burch of Weedsport; sister-in-law, Kandyce (Jack) Daley of Williamsburg, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank St. Joseph’s Health Hospital and Loretto for their loving care and compassion given to Helena.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, May 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Helena will be laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery, Camillus.
